How to use SVG Optimizer

2. Run the optimizer and review the reported size reduction.
3. Preview the cleaned SVG to confirm nothing visually changed.
4. Download the compact copy and keep the original if further editing is planned.

Check your result before using it

Render the downloaded SVG at small and large sizes and compare gradients, clipping, strokes and text with the original. Removing apparently unused markup can affect references or styling in some files. Test the result in its intended embedding context, not only as a standalone image. Optimization also does not establish that untrusted SVG content is safe to publish; review external references and active content separately.

When to use SVG Optimizer

• Prepare an exported logo SVG before committing it to a website repository
• Reduce the size of icon SVGs before bundling them in a design system
• Remove editor-generated cruft from an SVG downloaded from a design tool

Important limitations

• The sanitizer is intentionally conservative and is not a full SVGO replacement.
• Always preview complex masks, filters and externally referenced assets after optimization.
